Publicity for accredited trainer programs

Yesterday, NCA conducted a free collaborative Capacity Building and Accreditation program for over 400 construction workers and site supervisors at Mugondoi Vocational Training Center in Kesses Constituency, Uasin Gishu County following a partnership request by area Member of Parliament Hon. CPA Julius Rutto.
The program saw the construction workers trained on NCA’s Compliance mandate, Accreditation and its importance, Occupational Health Safety and Environment best practices, and Life Skills for the construction industry before culminating in free accreditation.
In his remarks, Hon. CPA Julius Rutto urged the participants to take the role they play in the construction industry seriously, adding that he would engage accredited construction workers in National Government Constituency Development Fund projects through labor-based contracting hence the need to embrace professional diligence and best practices.
NCA Executive Director Eng. Maurice Akech, MBS on his part, challenged the Fundis and Site supervisors to embrace continuous professional advancement as this would see them better placed for opportunities such as the affordable housing program and set them on the path of progress from labor-based to project-based contractors. Eng. Akech also reminded the participants that they form the bulk of the construction industry’s workforce and as such, their empowerment would go a long way in improving Kenya’s Construction Industry.
The exercise was the third of its kind having been preceded by the Kajiado North and Manyatta editions.
