\nBuilding department, in the month of February, conducted 6 trainings under the
\nAuthority\u2019s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program that saw\u00a0418
\nContractors and 119 Site Supervisors edified.<\/p>\n
Of these, two Regional Contractor CPD seminars targeted contractors from 7 counties
\nunder Central Nyanza &\u00a0Upper Eastern\u00a0regions, while 2 high impact seminars
\nspecifically targeted MSME contractors from 5 counties under Kajiado and Western
\nRegions while a further 2 online webinars covered Electrical and Building Contractors
\nfrom across the entire country.<\/p>\n
Participants in the programs were coached on wide ranging topics that included, but
\nweren\u2019t limited to: the Bidding Process in Construction, Project Planning &
\nManagement, Contract Administration, Structural Integrity of Buildings, Demolition
\nWorks, Sustainable Water Management, An Engendered Approach to Occupational
\nHealth and Safety, Entrepreneurship for MSMEs In Construction and Alternative Dispute
\nResolution in Construction.<\/p>\n
Within the same period, as part of NCA\u2019s Continuous Technical Development (CTD)
\nprogram,\u00a01,786 construction workers drawn from\u00a091 construction sites across\u00a0 11
\nregions were trained\u00a0under the Construction Workers Onsite Training program.<\/p>\n
The CTD program also saw\u00a0928 students undertaking various construction related
\ncourses\u00a0in 7 Vocational and Technical Colleges as well as Youth Polytechnics in
\nCentral Nyanza and Coast regions taken through the Exit and Mentorship Talks
\nprogram.<\/p>\n
The Construction Workers Onsite Training program has seen marked improvement\u00a0on
\nSafe Site practices particularly in the use of PPEs and Safety Signs. The program also
\nsensitizes Contractors and Site Supervisors on safety compliance measures and
\nadoption of continuous trainings through toolbox talks, to ensure consistency in applying
\nSite Safety best practices.<\/p>\n
